About Dr. Deanna L. Owen

Dr. Deanna L. Owen is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Auburn University. For several years in the late 90s, she had a private practice in Atlanta as well as worked at the University of Georgia and Oglethorpe University.

She returned to the Memphis area about 25 years ago and has been offering individualized, evidence-based care for adults and adolescents. Her approach integrates warmth with clinical precision to address anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and stress-related concerns that often present alongside medical conditions or interfere with the life satisfaction we seek.

Dr. Owen enjoys engaging and lively conversations with clients of all types to uncover together a path forward to empower people with strategies for lasting change. With 30 years of experience, she brings much appreciation for each person’s unique life history and goals. She is committed to comprehensive care across diverse individuals at every stage of life from adolescence to late adulthood. 

Her personal interests are time with family, her pets, the beaches of 30A, and hummingbirds.

Dr. Owen offers both in-person and virtual appointments to fit your needs. She is accepting new patients ages 15 and above for individual as well as couples/marital therapy. Her approach is collaborative and nonjudgmental.  She seeks to identify the strengths one brings to the current situation, which can be a foundation for a learned skill set to foster greater life satisfaction. Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Adlerian Theory to uniquely tailor a plan for lasting change.
