About Dr. Davis
Dr. Davis, a native Memphian, has been a licensed psychologist since 1999, providing compassionate, empowering, and evidence-based psychological services to clients from all backgrounds. Dr. Davis incorporates cognitive-behavioral and person-centered approaches in her work with clients. She believes in people’s inherent ability to determine what is best for them with effective support. She encourages clients to approach therapy with patience and to give themselves grace as growth and learning new ways of being take time. As a clinician, Dr. Davis fosters an environment of trust and openness with constant reminders that a holistic approach to wellness is essential for significant and sustained progress.
Graduating from Fairley High School in 1986, she went on to earn her B.A. in Psychology from Rhodes College and her Ph.D. in Clinical/Community Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Davis has worked in higher education for over 30 years serving as a faculty member and administrator. She is a member of the Tennessee Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association. She also served on the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology from 2008-2014 (serving as Vice Chair, 2010-2011, and Chair, 2011-2012).
Dr. Davis enjoys spending time with family and friends and at the beach, her happy place.
Services
Dr. Davis works primarily online, providing face-to-face therapy with clients via a HIPAA-compliant, secure, online therapy platform. She works with clients aged 18 and above. She brings her skills as an educator and clinician to her work, which will often entail asking clients to engage in skill-building practice and reflection exercises between sessions because working only in the therapy session is insufficient to bring about meaningful change.
